Growing up as a kid in northern Wisconsin, my life was sports. I played football, hockey, baseball and wrestling when I was in high school. Struggling to rehab my own baseball elbow injury led to my interest in sports medicine. Living in a small town, with limited resources, I thought there had to be a better way.
I went to the University of Wisconsin and pursued my degree in Biology. From there I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic West to get my degree in Chiropractic Medicine. I knew that my dynamic background in playing sports and having my own injuries would help set a foundation for my knowledge in sports medicine.
While in my doctorate program, I learned everything I could about how to diagnose, treat and train athletes to improve their performance. Manual therapy, movement assessment, and sports performance became the centerpiece of how I wanted to build my practice. I learned that treating only the site of pain is a fools errand and that my focus would be assessing dysfunctional movement patterns and treating tissue restrictions to allow athletes to move more optimally.
I’ve been lucky enough to practice for 13+ years in San Francisco treating athletes of all skill levels. Over those years, I’ve fallen in love with the game of golf and all the amazing biomechanics it encompasses. I’ve been fortunate to work on the players and caddies at the 2012 and 2019 U.S. Opens at the Olympic Club and Pebble Beach, respectively.
I also try and put into practice what I teach my patients. I’m regularly doing golf-specific strength and mobility work. I love trying new things and different ways to get the body moving more optimally. You’ll also see me on the course or range a couple times a week working on my game. I hope I’ll get a chance to work with you!
